Chakan for the Megadrive is a cool game. The design of the world and the sprites are really good work. Chakan is the forever man and he is a skeleton guy dressed like a dark desert guy with two swords and a pointy hat. He attacks with his swords in all directions and jumping. He can double jump straight up only. He can go through floors. The main world is really cool. It is a brick ruins with a scrolling background made to look like it is falling. There are four levels that you travel to through portals like in minecraft, but the swirly purple makes a face.. The deepest of the ocean, Eldenrod the keeper of souls, the dragonfly king, a spider hive. In all of the levels the sprites are the best I've seen on sega, especially for a fantasy world. The octopus is really cool. The spiders are really cool. The ocean and spider worlds are my favorite. I don't really like the dragon fly level because it is really hard and the sprites buzz so you can't appreciate them. It does have a high level paralax background that moves on its own so that is neat. The Eldenrod level is like a haunted house and it is really cool but really hard. The enemys attack timing is so if you fight them you will fall in the pit of fire, so be passive. This game excels at art work and backgrounds. It doesn't all look the same. The haunted house looks soul like and the ocean world is hard to move under the water which is most of the time, though it is the easiest. All of the sprites get an A+. The world art work gets an A-. I would probably play this game to see more levels but it only has 4. At least you can sample all of them without beating any.
